What’s new for the Bossier Arts Council this Spring

Vibrant and colorful art now hang on the walls at the Bossier Arts Council for the Spring. Three local artists share their works opening on April 1, 2021. You’re invited to come out and be inspired by their creativity (and maybe buy a piece for your home).

The opening reception takes place on Friday, April 9, 2021 from 6:00pm-8:00pm. Remember to wear a mask and follow Covid-19 protocols.

In the Emerging Artist Gallery…

A multi-disciplined artist, Bonnie Kirkley often employing techniques and methods acquired in her work as an illustrator and designer.  Experimenting and remaining receptive to the internal flow of ideas, she says, is what inspires and informs her vision.

Bossier Arts Council Spring

This body of work consists of related collections, conceived while living in three different states. Regional geographic and cultural influence, as well as a mid-life college education, contributed to the varied subject matter of the pieces, and methods in which they were created.

In the East Bank Gallery…

See the works of Deanna Glaze featuring Shelby Glaze. In an effort to broaden her own horizons Deanna decided to create a body of work with someone who had unbridled creativity. Her daughter and she began this journey before her daughter was even able to spell the word “paint.” As a school teacher and a mother this project allowed her to have pure expression free from predetermined artistic standards.

Both shows run through the Spring until May 29th, 2021 at the Bossier Arts Council galleries at 630 Barksdale Boulevard in Bossier City. Hours are Tuesday-Saturday from 11:00am-5:00pm
