The 2021-2022 Shreveport Symphony Orchestra Series: Your Music Your World

Recently, the Shreveport Symphony Orchestra (SSO) announced their 2021-2022 season. While we do have to wait until the fall for great music, the SSO season looks to be amazing! This season’s theme is Your Music Your World with music from Latin America, Italy and more.

All concerts (except the Lagnaippe Concert) takes place at RiverView Theatre on Clyde Fant Parkway in downtown. Concerts are on Saturdays starting at 7:30pm.

Holiday Pops with Erich Bergen

December 18

You’ve seen Erich Bergen on Jersey Boys and Madam Secretary and he’ll be on stage with the SSO to get you in the holiday spirit.

Concierto de Aranjuez

January 8

GRAMMY winning guitarist Jason Vieaux returns. The performance includes works by Rodrigo, Aaron Jay Kernis and Strauss.

John-Henry Crawford Plays Haydn

January 29

The cello takes center stage with a selection of pieces to show the versatility of the stringed instrument.

Viva Italia!

March 5

As you can guess, it’s an Italian theme with Mendelssohn’s Italian, Rossini’s Overture to l’Italiana in Algieri and more. Simon Karakuldi (Wideman Gold Medalist) plays the piano.

Symphony of Illusions

April 2

The Shreveport Symphony Orchestra is magical. Literally during this performance with Master Illusionist Michael Grandinetti.

Latin Nights

April 23

The world premiere of Cloudscraper by Ark-La-Tex native James Eakin debuts! Cuban pianist and composer Aldo Lopez-Gavilan celebrates the Latin music of the Americas.

See the immigrant experience and legacy of Ellis Island with video, dramatic portrayals and the music of Dvorak’s New World.

Lagniappe Concert: Back & Bloch

November 13 – Location – First Baptist Shreveport (543 Ockley Dr.)

One of the best interpreters of Bach comes to Shreveport!  Simone Dinnerstein will play Bach’s Piano Concerto in D minor and Brandenburg Concerto No. 5 as well as Bloch’s Concerto Grosso No. 1. This concert will be free for season subscribers.

The Music of Led Zeppelin

Spring 2022

Who says the symphony can’t rock??? Not only will it be music from one of the greatest rock bands, but appropriate lighting effects and a whole lot more.
