Memphis: a town known for its fantastic BBQ. However, it is also home to Phillip Ashley Chocolates. Phillip has become renowned for designing wildly imaginative chocolates with ingredients like sweet potato, barbecue and bleu cheese. You’ve seen his work in several national magazines including Vogue and Forbes. Recognition of this establishment comes from one of the highest authorities in the country. They’ve been featured in the iconic James Beard House in New York City.
Ashley’s artistic approach to making chocolate yield decadent pieces of edible art. He studied the chemistry, history and chemistry of chocolate. To him, there’s a thoughtful process in creating new chocolates. When it comes to presentation, it has to be authentic and be truly representative of the message. He’s created a piece of chocolate called Magma that looks black, red and white and looks like a molten rock.
