In Partnership with the Southern Weekend

Here’s who every state is rooting for in the NFL playoffs

The NFL playoffs kick off on Saturday with Wild Card Weekend with twelve of the fourteen teams squaring off in some exciting gridiron action. Across the country, many are rooting for their favorite NFL team from state to state. Since January 3, the football crew over at has been following tweets from across the country to see which states are tagging the playoff teams. Over 120,000 tweets were tracked. Some of the hashtags followed by the group included the official fan hashtags, #GoPackGo, #BillsMafia, etc.

No surprise who Louisiana is rooting for and happy Arkansas is supporting the Who Dat Nation.

The Green Bay Packers and Kansas City Chiefs lead with nine states. Note that the Kansas City Chiefs and Green Bay Packers are not playing in Wild Card Weekend because they won the number one seed in their conference. The Buffalo Bills and Tampa Bay Buccaneers each claim six states each.

There are a few shockers for a state rooting for a different NFL team. Most notably that Texas, Utah and North Carolina supports Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers. Also a surprise is Nevada’s allegiance to the Buffalo Bills. With the New England Patriots out of the playoffs for the first time in a while, many fans remain loyal to Tom Brady, Rob Gronkowski and the Tamp Bay Buccaneers.
