People have been craft brewing beer since ancient times and now more people are taking up this tradition.

Breweries seem to be popping up now all over the Ark-La-Tex. Here is a list of them for you to visit and enjoy responsibly.

Red River Brew Pub

1200 Marshall Street
Shreveport, LA

Located in downtown Shreveport, Red River Brew Pub is the first local brewery since prohibition, established in 2012. On certain days, you can watch demonstration of glass blowing.

Thursday:  11:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.
Friday:  11:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m.
Saturday: 11:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m.

Great Raft Brewing

1251 Dalzell Street
Shreveport, LA

Great Raft is a production craft brewery that partners with distributors across Louisiana, Texas and Arkansas to deliver beer to restaurants and stores. They have a tasting room where you can sign up for a tour, buy a sample, pint or growler fill.

Wednesday – Friday:  4 p.m. – 8 p.m.
Saturday:  12 p.m. – 8 p.m.

The Seventh Tap Brewing Project

Shreveport, LA

Three local craft beer brewers have come together to form this unique trio. They have secured a location and are currently working towards an opening around January or February.

Flying Heart Brewing

Bossier City, LA

Located in the old, historic Fire Station Number 6 on Barksdale Blvd, Flying Heart serves six beers year round as well as a rotating variety of seasonals.

Cane River Brewing

Housed in a refurbished cotton gin building that is nearly a century old, Cane River brewing is a perfect representation of what Natchitoches is all about: rooted in history but constantly evolving.

Pecan Point Brewing

Located in a historic building next to the Perot Theatre, Pecan Point serves unique craft beers from Texas, Louisiana & Mississippi.

Redbone Magic Brewing
