People have been craft brewing beer since ancient times and now more people are taking up this tradition.
Breweries seem to be popping up now all over the Ark-La-Tex. Here is a list of them for you to visit and enjoy responsibly.
Red River Brewing Co.
1200 Marshall Street
Located in downtown Shreveport, Red River Brewing Company is the first local brewery since prohibition, established in 2012. On certain days, you can watch demonstration of glass blowing.
Thursday: 4 p.m. – 10 p.m.
Friday: 3 p.m. – 10 p.m.
Saturday & Sunday: 2 p.m. – 10 p.m.
Great Raft Brewing
1251 Dalzell Street
Great Raft is a production craft brewery that partners with distributors across Louisiana, Texas and Arkansas to deliver beer to restaurants and stores. They have a tasting room where you can sign up for a tour, buy a sample, pint or growler fill.
Wednesday – Friday: 4 p.m. – 9 p.m.
Saturday: 12 p.m. – 9 p.m.
Flying Hear Brewing
700 Barksdale Boulevard
Bossier City, LA
Located in the old, historic Fire Station Number 6 on Barksdale Blvd, Flying Heart serves six beers year round as well as a rotating variety of seasonals.
Sunday: 11:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Monday-Thursday: 11:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.
Friday & Saturday: 11:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m.
Cane River Brewing
108 Mill Street
Housed in a refurbished cotton gin building that is nearly a century old, Cane River brewing is a perfect representation of what Natchitoches is all about: rooted in history but constantly evolving.
Thursday: 4 p.m. – 11 p.m.
Friday: 4 p.m. – 12 a.m.
Saturday: 11 a.m. – 12 a.m.
Sunday: 12 p.m. – 8 p.m.
Redbone Magic Brewing

Serving up an extensive menu of expertly crafted brews and ale, Redbone Magic is also known for great pizza as well.
