Things are changing for the better for downtown Shreveport dining options.

Fans of Great Raft Brewery… DON”T PANIC! Yes, the popular brew masters recently shut down… temporarily. They totally renovated their tasting room. The taproom is back open now.

Better acoustics

More seating!

Speaking of more and new…  downtown will soon have more outdoor sidewalk seating. You can find plenty of patio seating at Nicky’s, Bon Temps Coffee Bar, and Fully Stacked in the Red River District. And there’s already outdoor seating at Abby Singer’s Bistro but it’s above the sidewalk (with a great view). Thanks to a 2017 city ordinance, outdoor seating is now up outside of Rhino Coffee (624 Texas Street). Rhino Patio Downtown Shreveport DiningPlus, you might see more sidewalk cafes in the future. Did you know that downtown Shreveport has seen a surge of satisfying places to eat? In the past few months The Missing Link, Proud Mary 360 Grill, Frida’s Bar and Grill, and Fat Calf Bouchiere have opened to great reviews. These join the already impressive list of downtown eateries including Parish Taceaux, Bon Asian Café, The Blind Tiger and (currently under renovations) Crystal Stairs, the restaurants at El Dorado Resort Casino and Sam’s Town Hotel & Casino plus many more.

Plus there’s more good news for foodies and downtown Shreveport dining. How about a food crawl along with the Louisiana Food Prize? Yummy. The Golden Fork Award will be given to the best chef in the area. 5 have been selected and will be given a batch of surprise ingredients to create something fabulous. This event occurs on Friday, October 5. After the Golden Fork is awarded, the Food Crawl begins from 8:30pm-11:30pm. Jump on the trolley and hit 13 restaurants and bars for one-night-only food and drink specials. Check out more details here.
