A great weekend getaway might be to discover Moody Gardens in Galveston, Texas. You will find a plethora of things to do that you and the whole family will enjoy.

To begin, he first built pyramid in Moody Gardens was the Rainforest Pyramid. Inside this 10 story glass structure, you will find over 1,000 species of flora and fauna. Komodo Dragons, Giant Amazon River Otters, and Ocelots reside along the trail. Oh my! Some animals are free roaming. You might encounter the White-faced Saki Monkeys or butterflies, or the Cotton-Top Tamarind.

Secondly, the Aquarium Pyramid recently underwent a massive renovation. The largest aquarium in Texas holds 1.5 million gallons of water. Some of the diverse wildlife you will see include: seals, sea lions, sharks, otters, fish, and over 100 penguins to name a few. Thirdly, the Discovery Pyramid hosts a special attraction for the kids. The SpongeBob SubPants Adventure is a one-of-a-kind interactive experience that allows guests to on a submarine voyage to explore the world of Bikini Bottom with the help of their captain, Patrick Star. Elsewhere in the pyramid, rotating exhibits brings fresh offerings for everyone to enjoy.

In the winter time, renowned Chinese sculptors transform over two million tons of ice into Ice Land. You can walk through the wonderland (wearing parkas) to see the exhibit with 35 foot tall displays. Also, have fun on the giant ice slide. It’s part of the annual Festival of Lights that runs from mid-November to the first part of January. See thousands of twinkling colored lights and hear your favorite holiday tunes. More attractions include Christmas movies in their 3D and 4D theaters, train rides, and the area’s only outdoor ice skating rink.

There’s plenty more to do as you discover Moody Gardens. Tour Galveston Bay on the Colonel Paddlewheel Boat. Watch movies in the MG 3dD and 4D Special FX theaters. Relax at the Palm Beach water park. In addition, stay at the Moody Gardens Hotel, Spa and Convention Center. Then, play a round at the Moody Gardens Golf Course. Feeling adventurous? Challenge yourself at the Sky Trail Explorer Ropes Course and the Moody Gardens Zip Line.
