Get ready for the sizzle, Cookin on the Cane returns. The Natchitoches Area Jaycees organizes this annual barbecue competition filled with terrific smells and tastes. Find the event at the riverfront in greater downtown Natchitoches.
The barbecue competition features a children’s contest. Kids ages 5 to 16 will have there own BBQ chicken cook-off. Cookin on the Cane is sponsored by Cane River Family Medicine and Guidroz Insurance Agency. The International Barbeque Cookers Association (IBCA) sanctions by . The purpose of the International Barbeque Cookers Association is to create a competitive cooking atmosphere across the world.
Those who attend will be able to sample food beginning at 3pm to 5pm. Looking to cash in for some extra money? Winning chefs receive $5,000 in prize money. The cooking competition is at 100 Rue Beauport in Natchitoches, LA. Those competing in the cooking competition must be at the site of the competition at 6:00pm. The cost to compete in the Cookin’ on the Cane cooking competition is $175.
