ARTini: Shaken, stirred, and wildly creative martinis

The culinary arts are celebrated during this annual event to benefit the Bossier Arts Council

date Every year, the Bossier Arts Council (BAC) throws one amazing fundraiser party called ARTini. It combines good music, visual arts, and the culinary world for a night of great fun. Fifteen restaurants and businesses compete with their best martini recipes to win one of three categories: People’s Choice, Judge’s Choice, and Most M’artisinal. These aren’t your ordinary martinis. Even James Bond would be impressed with the imaginative variety of flavors. Some memorable flavors include Muffuletta, Smoke-infused coffee, Red Hots, BBQ, Chocolate Cake Mint, Puff Pastry, and a fruity martini with dry ice.

Due to the Coronavirus, the BAC plans to celebrate Artini 2020 in a virtual way. Details coming soon.

What to expect

When you arrive to the party, you will select your own martini glass that has been painted by a local artist. Go around and sample the martinis. Pick out your favorite and drop your paper olive token into the box. The martini with the most olives will win the People’s Choice award. The Most M’artisinal Award goes to the martini that is the most creative.

Executive Director Robin Jones says that “all of that money goes to support the programming for the Bossier Arts Council throughout the year.”  There is an Artist One Stop where artists can come in and learn how to market themselves and their artwork as well as have access to computers.

In 2019, ARTini goers gathered at the East Bank District Plaza. It’s across the street from the Bossier Arts Council office. For 2021, the event may be held at Sci-Port Discovery Center.

Make plans to attend the 2021 ARTini on Saturday, June 21 from 7:00 pm – 11:00 pm. Tickets are $75 and available here.

ARTini is one of many public art events in Bossier City. The BAC also presents Digifest South.
