8 Fun Things to Do This Weekend: July 30-August 1

It may be the hottest weekend of the year yet there are still some great events happening.

Fun Day Petting Zoo


It’s the end of the summer reading program and to mark the occasion, kids can enjoy a petting zoo, balloon animals, face painting, snow cones and more. For more info, follow the event on Facebook.

20th Annual Watermelon Festival

6:30am-7:00pm (Also Friday night with a parade and gospel concert)

Celebrate all things watermelon in a small town with a big heart. Watch wiener dog races and turtle races. Participate in watermelon-related games. And munch on free watermelon slices from 10:00am-3:00pm. See the schedule here.

Spend the Day in Natchitoches


Shop the farmers market from 8:00am-Noon. Stay for the NSU Folklife Concert Series in the afternoon at 2:00pm. Then have even more fun at Destination Downtown with food, live music, shopping and more.

Sport City Corvette Club Car & Bike Show

Teen Fest


This is a chance for teens ages 12 and up to have some fun before school starts for fun things to do including music, prizes, food and more. Health screenings will be offered as well as Covid vaccines. For more info, click here.

Brew Olympics

Webster’s Got Talent


Acts from all over Webster Parish come together to see who can win the competition. It’s a fun chance to see all sorts of talent for free (bring a lawn chair with you).  For more info, click here.

DJ Duel and Foam Party
