Romantic Valentine’s Day experiences (that doesn’t involve food)

(Ark-La-Tex Weekend) - Roses? Check. Special Valentine’s Day dinner? Check. Chocolates? Check. You usually have a standard checklist for the romantic day. But why not do something extra special? We found a few experiences in the Ark-La-Tex that might make this day a little more memorable.

Create something together...

Make something special and unique together. There are two glass blowers in Shreveport (Sanctuary Glass Studio and High Gravity Glassworks) that will help you and your sweetie create your own glass heart, flower or wine glass. You can pick out your colors and help in the shaping and sculpting of molten glass into a piece of art that will last.

Spreading the love...

Spend a day volunteering together. In the end, you’ll have learned more about your partner and will have experienced a day where not only have you loved each other, but that love will help others in your hometown. Some places to consider helping could be The Food Bank of Northwest Louisiana, The Gingerbread House, The Library or The Hub Urban Ministries just to name a few!

Spontaneous road trip...

For Valentine’s Day or for a weekend, head out of town to experience a bed and breakfast in Natchitoches or rent a cabin in McCurtain County, Oklahoma or relax by Toledo Bend Reservoir. It could be one of the best ways to recharge and reinvigorate your love life.

Take the plunge... Literally...

How far would you go to prove your love? Show your significant other by going skydiving. It will definitely be a memorable experience for both of you jumping out of a perfectly good airplane. There are businesses in Gilliam, La and Gladewater, Tex to help out.
