SHREVEPORT, La. (Ark-La-Tex Weekend) - After two years of no holiday cheer, the Kansas City Southern Holiday Express will turn on the Christmas lights and return to cities across the South including here in the Ark-La-Tex. The festive, six-car holiday train features beautiful Christmas displays. Even Santa Claus and some of his elves will meet and greet everyone. It’s free to visit and explore the train.
In the Ark-La-Tex, you can see the train when it stops in the following cities
- Friday, November 25 at 4:00pm - Monroe, La at the corner of Third and Desiard Streets
- Tuesday, November 29 at 4:00pm - Mansfield, La at 1004 Polk Street
- Sunday, December 4 at 4:00pm - Shreveport, La at the KCS Yard (4500 North Lake Shore Dr., Gate 5)
- Monday, December 5 from 5:30 - 8:30pm - Texarkana, Tex at Tiger Stadium at Grim Park with shuttle service provided from the stadium to the train
- Tuesday, December 6 at 4:00pm - Ashdown, Ark at the corner of Main and US Highway 71
- Wednesday, December 7 at 4:00pm - Mena, Ark at 524 Sherwood Avenue

Most importantly, the train serves as a fantastic fundraiser. For over 21 years, even during the Covid shutdown, raised over 2 million dollars for The Salvation Army. You can contribute to the campaign here.
