The Little Dog Laughed takes the stage

It’s the 3rd offering in the Left of Center series

SHREVEPORT, La. (Ark-La-Tex Weekend) - Stage Center announced their next production: The Little Dog Laughed by Douglas Carter Beane. Tickets are on sale now for three performances at the Marjorie Lyons Playhouse on the campus of Centenary College in Shreveport. Logan Sledge stars as Mitchell Green along with Jamie Kiihnl as Diane, Eric Mason Kirton as Alex and Sabrina Scott as Ellen. Stage Center Artistic Director Jared Watson helms the production.

From the press release, “THE LITTLE DOG LAUGHED follows the adventures of Mitchell Green, a movie star who could hit big if it weren’t for one teensy-weensy problem. His agent, Diane, can’t seem to keep him in the closet. Trying to help him navigate Hollywood’s choppy waters, the devilish Diane is doing all she can to keep Mitchell away from the cute rent boy (Alex) who’s caught his eye and the rent boy’s girlfriend (wait, the rent boy has a girlfriend?). Will there be a happy ending as the final credits roll?”

This production contains strong language, adult situations and brief nudity.

Performances occur on Friday, August 19, 2022 at 7:30pm, Saturday, August 20, 2022 at 7:30pm and a matinee at 2:00pm on Sunday, August 21, 2022.

The Little Dog Laughed is the final production of Stage Center’s 11th Mainstage Season and we’re looking forward to Season Twelve. That announcement comes in September.
