Independence Bowl 2021 – More Than a Game

SHREVEPORT, La. (Ark-La-Tex Weekend) - Bowl season in the Ark-La-Tex starts on Tuesday, August 30, 2022 at the Radiance Technologies Independence Bowl Kickoff Dinner. This year, the guest speaker is none other than LSU Women’s Head Basketball Coach Kim Mulkey. Make plans to attend this dinner at the Shreveport Convention Center starting with the cocktail hour at 6:00pm. Dinner buffet service begins at 6:15pm with the program commencing at 7:00pm. Attendees can have the opportunity to ask questions afterwards.

“It is an honor to be invited to speak at the kickoff dinner for the Independence Bowl,” said Mulkey in the press release. “The Independence Bowl is such an important event to north Louisiana which is where I went to school and began my coaching career. I have created a lot of great memories in north Louisiana and I am excited to be back in August to share my story.”

Mulkey is known in North Louisiana for leading the Lady Techsters to a 130-6 record, two national championships and more over in Ruston. She’s also won national championships as head coach over at Baylor University. Mulkey will be the first non-football player or coach to speak at the Kickoff Dinner.
