ARTini goes under the big top for 2022

20 will compete to see who has the best martini

BOSSIER CITY, La. (Ark-La-Tex Weekend) - 2022 is the twelfth year for the Bossier Arts Council’s ARTini. This fun and entertaining event is the main fundraiser for the group promoting art in Bossier City and Bossier Parish. This year, twenty mixologists are competing with their best martini recipes to win one of three categories: People’s Choice, Judge’s Choice, and Most M’artisinal. These aren’t your ordinary martinis. Even James Bond would be impressed with the imaginative variety of flavors. Some memorable flavors include Muffuletta, Smoke-infused coffee, Red Hots, BBQ, Chocolate Cake Mint, Puff Pastry (infused with vodka cream), and a fruity martini with dry ice. Absolut supplies the vodka but everything after that is up to the drink maker.

ARTini runs from 7:00pm to 11:00pm at the Bossier Civic Center on Saturday, June 11. The theme this year is Cirque du Artini and it is reminiscent of a vintage circus. In addition to the martinis, you’ll see artwork from featured artist Lisandra Di Liberto Torres. Plus, hear great music from The Hollow Decks. Walk amongst firebreathers, stilt walkers, jugglers and aerial performers.

Executive Director Robin Jones says, “It’s an eclectic mix of people. I like the way that the people dress creatively so they take the theme and that’s how they dress. I like the atmosphere of the event. Everybody is coming together for a great cause. It’s a great night out.” Tickets are $75 plus fees. Only 800 tickets are available and they are going fast. Click here to reserve your ticket. Upon arrival, pick out your very own hand painted martini glass created by local artists and that’s yours to keep. Then try up to twenty different martinis and cast your vote. There are rinse stations scattered throughout the event to keep the glasses clean. ARTini organizers suggest a ride share or a taxi if you plan to try a lot of martinis.

All of the money raised goes into the BAC programming for the next year including Digifest South and many exhibitions in their Barksdale Boulevard location. Swing by and check out the 10th anniversary of ARTini recipe book.
