See the Norton’s summer exhibitions

It’s a combo of Dance and European Street Art

SHREVEPORT, La. (Ark-La-Tex Weekend) - The R. W. Norton Art Gallery always brings new and exciting art to the community and for the summer of 2022, they have two great collections to share. The first is Dance: A Song of the Body. Explore the art form of dance from public domain images to pieces from the gallery’s permanent collection. They’ll show a stunning diversity from ballet to burlesque.

Writing on the Wall: A Tribute to European Street Art is the second show for the summer. Guest curators Jan Gary and Sophia Romanski takes a look at the controversial art form which has become more mainstream. From sixteen different countries, see the Economic turmoil, climatic change, and political unrest that decorated Europe’s walls and alleyways alongside enormous commissioned murals designed only to be aesthetically pleasing.

Attend the opening reception on Friday, June 3, 2022 from 5:00pm - 7:00pm. Be the first to see the two exhibitions, meet the guest curators and enjoy complimentary hors d’oeuvres and refreshments.

While you are at the Norton, go on the hunt for these unique treasures.
