Uncle Robert’s Sloppy Joes

One of my favorite recipes!

Anyone can knock this recipe out of the park in 30 minutes or less. If my family needed a hearty meal fast, I would make them Uncle Robert’s Sloppy Joes since we had all of the ingredients already in house. Feel free to add or change this recipe to your liking! If you want to reduce the spice level, substitute regular or Dijon mustard and cut back a little on the hot sauce.

1 lb. ground beef

1 onion, diced

1 green pepper, diced

1 c. ketchup

2 tsp. hot mustard

1 tsp. chili or hot sauce

1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce

1 tsp. oregano

1 tsp. black pepper

ΒΌ c. water

Brown the ground beef for five minutes. Drain excess fat. Dice onion and green pepper. While beef is draining, saute the vegetables for 5 minutes. Mix ketchup, hot mustard, chili sauce, Worcestershire sauce, oregano and black pepper together. Return ground beef to pan and add ketchup mixture. Stir together. Add water if necessary. Simmer for ten minutes. Serve on hamburger buns.

Makes four Uncle Robert’s Sloppy Joes sandwiches.

This Buffalo Coleslaw recipe will work fantastically with the Sloppy Joes. Plus, check out these worldly drinks to go along with your meal.
