Tickets are on sale now for The Strand’s 35th season. According to The Strand’s website, this season will be “A Season that Pops.” From the look of the lineup, we agree!

RICHARD MARX – Friday, Sept. 6 – 8:00 pm

Grammy® award winning contemporary pop/rock performer comes to Shreveport. Richard Marx has sold more than 30 million albums worldwide. Some of his famous songs include “Endless Summer Nights,” ‘Right Here Waiting for You” and “Hold on to the Nights.”


YAKOV SMIRNOFF – Friday, Oct. 4 – 8:00 pm

Back in the 1980s, Smirnoff’s brand of Russian humor captivated audiences. His Hollywood credits include “Moscow on the Hudson,” The Money Pit” and “Heartburn.” Since then, he continues to entertain with his insightful and comedic take on life. Laugh during this night of comedy.


THE COLOR PURPLE – Saturday, Nov. 16 – 8:00 pm

“The Color Purple” won the 2016 Tony Award for Best Musical Revival. Based on the book by Marsha Norman, this musical tells the tale of two sisters growing up in the early 20th century.


A CHRISTMAS CAROL – Thursday, Dec. 5 – 7:00 pm

The timeless classic comes to the stage. This new production features incredible special effects including larger than life puppets and traditional seasonal music. Theater veteran Scott H. Severance plays Scrooge.


AMERICAN GIRL LIVE – Friday, Jan. 24 – 7:00 pm

It’s all about the power of girls and the strength of friendship. Five campers and their counselor at Camp American Girl overcome fear and obstacles to have the summer of their lives.


FINDING NEVERLAND – Saturday, Feb. 8 – 8:00 pm

Based on the Academy Award winning film, this musical tells the story behind Peter Pan. It’s won several awards including Broadway.com’s Audience Choice Award for Best Musical. The family will love this heartwarming tale.


AN AMERICAN IN PARIS – Friday, Mar. 6 – 8:00 pm

George and Ira Gershwin’s classic comes to the stage. An American soldier and a mysterious French woman meet in Paris after World War II.


BEAUTIFUL: THE CAROLE KING MUSICAL – Friday, Mar. 27 – 8:00 pm

Musician Carole King started off as a songwriter and evolved to pop music superstar. This musical reflects on her life and success. Of course you’ll hear many of her favorite tunes including “Some Kind of Wonderful,” “I Feel the Earth Move” and “(You Make Me Feel Like) a Natural Woman.”


MUTTS GONE NUTS – Saturday, May 2 – 2:30 pm

To say this show has gone to the dogs is a compliment. A talking(!) dog is one of the many pooches prancing around the stage at The Strand. Scott and Joan Houghton bring their comedy dog show for your enjoyment.


ONE NIGHT OF QUEEN – Saturday, July 25 – 8:00 pm

This show will rock you! One of the world’s premiere Queen tribute bands will perform one night only. Favorites like “Bohemian Rhapsody,” “You’re My Best Friend” and “We Are the Champions” will be heard this night along with many others.
