Southern University at Shreveport plans a spectacular Black History Month

Southern University at Shreveport (SUSLA) continues its tradition of hosting outstanding events in honor of Black History Month. For 2021, the events focus on the national theme of “The Black Family: Representation, Identity, Diversity.” Much of the celebration will be held online with Zoom due to the pandemic. Yet you should try to enjoy the artwork at the art museum safely.

During the month of February, the Southern University Museum of Art Shreveport (SUMAS) hosts a special exhibit featuring alumni artists. The museum opens from 10:00am-5:00pm Mondays and Thursdays and from 9:00am-Noon on Fridays. Social distancing guidelines and mask wearing will be enforced.
