They make it look so good.
Cirque du Soleil travels the world entertaining fans and families with their acrobatic and visionary style. Audiences experience mind blowing feats of athleticism and magical displays of wonder. Currently, twenty productions are active in the Cirque repertoire. Each showcasing incredible talent including actors, musicians, and singers. Recently, we went behind-the-scenes at “Corteo” to see how they make the magic happen. After seeing the entertainers go through their routines, we wondered how people can join Cirque du Soleil.
We asked publicist Maxwell Batista about what it takes to become part of the troupe. According to him, they discover many acts through the Internet and athletic competitions from all around the world. Interested athletes and performers can join Cirque du Soleil by submitting their own videos on the company website.
If someone is selected, they are brought to the corporate headquarters in Montreal. In addition to the their act, performers are trained in acting, singing, and even clapping to be a part of the show. Everyone on stage will go through costuming with over 300 measurements so every costume fits perfectly.
