We take a peek inside the final push to get ready for THE social event of the year.
Something magical happens once every two years. The Shreveport Regional Arts Council (SRAC) presents its major fundraiser. Let’s go behind the scenes with a sneak peek of Christmas in the Sky.
If you’ve never been, it’s an amazing event. You’ll walk into Harrah’s Louisiana Downs and into another world. The theme this year is “Broadway.” On display will be the creativity of local artists and many volunteers. Once you check in, you’ll be whisked up to explore the twelve themed areas. See Spiderman, Mary Poppins, The Lion King, Hamilton, and many more colorful and glittery sections filled with auction items.
Plus, it’s all-you-can-eat with many food and drink stations. While your enjoying the displays and cuisine, local bands will provide hours of entertainment on several stages.
SRAC uses the proceeds from Christmas in the Sky for the next two years to bring quality events to Northwest Louisiana. Many events including Artbreak and Critical Mass are free to the public thanks to the money raised from the live and silent auctions.
Tickets are $300 while they last at skybroadway.com. You’re purchase of a ticket and bidding on the auction items will help SRAC provide the outstanding entertainment. If you can’t make to Christmas in the Sky, you can support SRAC and local artists by visiting Holidaze.
