There are a few events this weekend that coincide with the Apollo 11 5oth Anniversary. Make sure to check them out.


National Junior Brangus Show

8:00 am – 8:00 pm

Young cattle raisers present their best animals in this national competition. See the Showmanship competition in the mornings and the awards ceremony at 6:00 pm. For more info, click here.

A Morning of Herbal Tea

10:00 am – Noon

The ArkLaTex Herb Society reveals its new herb garden at the American Rose Center. Discover the history of their group and enjoy a late morning tea party. Feel free to dress up for this special occasion. Follow the event on Facebook.

Movies at the Esquire

7:00 pm – 10:00 pm

Music in the Park

7:30 pm – 9:00 pm

Scottish Rite Antique Bazaar

9:00 am – 5:00 pm

The Scottish Rite Cathedral opens its doors so you can shop local craft vendors as well as vintage and antique dealers. Plus you can take a tour of this historic structure and learn details on how to book this venue. Shop on Saturday as well. Tickets are $5 and can be reserved here.

Texarkana Twins vs. Baton Rouge Rougarou


What’s a rougarou? Find out as our local college-level baseball team goes for the win. Shaded grandstand tickets are only $5 right now until game day.  Get the deal and details on their website.
