Shreveport Stuffed Shrimp Festival…Yummm

Fried Shrimp, Fried Catfish, Salmon, Hushpuppies, Lobster, and of course Stuffed Shrimp! Sounds good right! Well you are in luck because the Shreveport Stuffed Shrimp Festival is happening in the Ark-La-Tex in May and you don’t want to miss this fun and tasty event.


The Inaugural Shreveport Stuffed Shrimp Festival will be at the Louisiana State Fairgrounds.  The Eddie E. Hughes Foundation and Budweiser will present the festival.  There will be live music, cooking demonstrations, historical presentations, food trucks, arts and crafts, a kid-friendly zone, a play area with bounce houses and many more.  In addition, there will be a golf tournament at 9 a.m., a domino tournament at 12 p.m. and a cornhole tournament at 2 p.m.  Admission to the festival is FREE, but you can get a VIP package or a sponsorship. The 1st Shreveport Stuffed Shrimp Festival, was hosted by Darrin Henson.  Henson is an award-winning actor, choreographer, dancer, director and producer.  He is best known for his work with popular celebrity artists and groups such as Britney Spears with her songs “Crazy” and “Sometimes,” Backstreet Boys with their hit song “Bye Bye Bye,” and Jagged Edge with their hit song “Where the Party at.”  There will be musical guests scheduled to perform including The San Antonio Spurs Cheerleaders, DJ Love, Windstorm, Tipsey, Blaze Band featuring Mark Scroggins, Gabriel “Saxman” Johnson, and many more amazing great, diverse group of artists both local and out of state.

The purpose of the Stuffed Shrimp Festival is to foster understanding and appreciation of the unique style of stuffed shrimp that were created and popularized in Shreveport.  The festival makes for a fun event and wholesome environment for the entire family to enjoy.  Some of the sponsors for the festival include Shreveport-Bossier Convention and Tourist Bureau, Eagle Distributing, the State Fair of Louisiana, Wal-Mart, Super 1 Foods, and many more local business that want to support the meaning of this festival.
