Landers Battle on the Border High School Football Showcase
5:30pm & 8:00pm
High school football teams from Florida, Georgia, Arkansas and right here in Louisiana come to town to play in five games on Friday and Saturday. See some of the best schools in the country battle each other. Plus. there’s the Academy Sports and Outdoors Kid Zone. For the full schedule and teams, check out their website.

Shreveport Mudbugs vs. New Mexico Ice Wolves and ETBU Tigers vs. Texas Longhorns

Hockey returns to the Ark-La-Tex! While the heat is on outside, cool off indoors as the NAHL Shreveport Mudbugs kick off their 2019-2020 season against the expansion Ice Wolves. FUMC Bossier Car Show
2:00pm – 6:00pm
All makes, models and years of vehicles are welcome. $20 registration per car. Awards in over 30 categories are up for grabs. There’s lots of fun things to do. Kids can enjoy bounce houses and door prizes will be handed out. For more info and to register, click here.

Red River County Stew Cook-Off
Area cooks compete to see who can make the best stew in the county. $5 gets all you can eat stew. For more info, click here.

The Magic Flute
The Texarkana Regional Arts & Humanities Council presents The Muses Project of Hot Springs and their fully staged production of Mozart’s The Magic Flute. This will be sung in German but will have English subtitles. For more info and tickets, click here.

29th Annual Demolition Derby
Doors open at 6 for this popular event at the Four States Fair and Rodeo. Delight in the damage as one car will emerge victorious from the destruction and mayhem of the derby. Info and general admission tickets can be found here.

SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 15
8th Mainstage presents this hilarious modern musical. A recent college grad named Princeton moves into a shabby New York apartment all the way out on Avenue Q, a place where puppets are friends, Monsters are good and life lessons are learned.
