Night at the Movies: Drive-In style

Drive-In Movies are making a comeback! The Social Circle Organization is hosting at Drive-In Night at the Movies event. This is a family-friendly event that is safe and will be social distant. The event will take place at the Louisiana State Fair Grounds (State Fair of Louisiana) from May 22-24 at 7:00 and 9:30 p.m. Tipsey Band will perform before each movie showing for a live while in your car performance. There will also be contact-less concessions available too.

Drive-In Movies

The Social Circle Organization host many community events and festivals. There mission is to promote social engagement while at the same time showcase local businesses. They do have cautions or rules for you so this event can be a safe, fun experience for everyone. For safety, they advise everyone to stay in their car while on the premises. Please do not get out your car especially if you have a truck and have a back trunk. Regarding concessions, there will be golf carts riding around to get orders or you can pre-order your food before the movie starts. If you must use the restroom, there are some around the fairground but they advise you take care of your business before you come. The sound from the movie and band will play directly through your car speakers without delay. Parking will skipped six feet apart between cars for social distancing purposes. Lastly, there screen is elevated 60ft so everyone can view the movie clearly.

Drive-In Movies

Now to the fun stuff! There will be a variety of family friendly movies playing from May 22- 24. The movies that will show and there times include:

  • Friday, May 22: Black Panther at 7:00 pm/ Step-Brothers at 9:30 pm
  • Saturday, May 23: Grease at 7:00 pm/ Coming to America at 9:30 pm
  • Sunday, May 24: The Lion King at 7:00 pm/ Queen and Slim 9:30 pm

The price of the tickets are $25 per car. So pack those cars up with family and friends and enjoy some great movies!
