Ma and Pa’s Buffalo Coleslaw

Add some spice to this traditional condiment.

Kick your coleslaw up a notch by adding our not-so-secret ingredient: Louisiana Hot Sauce. This Buffalo Coleslaw makes any summer barbecue extra special and extra spicy.


½ head green cabbage, thinly sliced

½ white onion, thinly sliced

4 stalks celery, chopped into small pieces

2 medium carrots, grated

1 c. crumbled blue cheese, divided

2 Tbsp. Chopped chives


¼ c. mayonnaise

¼ c. hot sauce

¼ c. apple cider vinegar

1 tsp. garlic powder

½ tsp. kosher salt


In a large bowl, combine cabbage, onion, celery and carrots. Stir until combined.

Make dressing: In a medium bowl, combine mayonnaise, hot sauce, vinegar, garlic powder, and salt. Whisk until combined.

Pour dressing over slaw mixture. With salad tongs, toss to combine. Garnish with chives and blue cheese.
