Let’s taco ’bout how awesome this festival is going to be! The second annual Taco Fest is back! They have an awesome lineup of music, food, and entertainment for your viewing pleasure.


Taco Fest 2019 is anticipating this year to be even better than last year. Organized by the Marshall News Messenger and main sponsor Patterson Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, this festival celebrates the growing diverse population in Marshall. In addition, provides a culturally relevant and engaging experience for families and visitors in the community. The event will be from 11 am to 10 pm on Saturday, Sept. 14th in downtown Marshall, TX.

The event will have variety of music from rock and roll to country, blues and jazz, a little funk, and some Latin flare to salsa to. Some of the headliner music groups will be country and rock music group, Darrin Morris Band. Also, there will be local Tyler, Tx band Johnny & the Nightcrawlers and blues artist Akeem Kemp Band from Arkansas. Plus, Longview’s Low D’s Jam Band will be mixing it up with R&B, funk, blues, and jazz. Latin Jazz artist Senor Gringo and country swing artist Trevor Clark will bring live performances as well. There will also be a salsa dancing contest, sponsored by Century 21 Brad Burris. So, come and bring your best moves.

Music will not be the only thing going on. This event will have Chihuahua races, a jalapeno eating contest, a kid’s zone, Lucha Libre wrestling and much more. The Lucha Libre wrestling is a unique form an entertainment that makes this event stand out. It is Mexican-style wrestling which is more relaxed than American-style wrestling. It also brings colorful flare with the Mexican culture of the masks. Heavyweight Champion Bryon “Big Daddy Yum Yum” Wilcott, will be one the wrestlers at the event and is bringing his Lucha Libre All Star team too. Another cool thing about Lucha Libre wrestling being at the Taco Fest is the diversity of wrestlers ranging from black, white, Hispanic, and women wrestlers too! There are four different times the matches will begin: noon, 1:30 pm, 3 pm, and 4:15 pm. The Taco Fest champ from 2018 (El Bazar Mexicano #2) also created the Taco King Cake!

General admission tickets are $10 for a wrist band. There are also VIP tickets for $40 and includes two drink coupons, full bar, snacks and d’oeuvres.
