Johnny’s Pizza – North Louisiana’s premier pizza place

North Louisiana's culinary treasure.

In 1967, one of the first pizza restaurants in Monroe opened for business. Johnny Huntsman brought his pizza recipe to a small building with 3 parking spaces. The sign outside boasted that the pizza house was “the only link in the world’s smallest pizza chain.” Since then, Johnny’s Pizza House has grown to over 40 locations in Louisiana, Arkansas, and Mississippi. At this time, more locations are under construction including on the Southern Loop in Shreveport. To find the location closest to you, click here.

Johnny made every pizza like he was making it for friends and family at home. A practice he passed on to the management and employees. Today, Johnny’s is proud to be owned by the employees. In 2000, an employee stock ownership program was created. Today, the transition to being fully employee-owned is almost complete. As a result, everyone who works there takes even more pride in what they do. In turn, you get a better pizza. See the history of Johnny’s here.

What makes a great pizza? At Johnny’s Pizza House it’s about the fresh ingredients. The crust is made every day from scratch. Veggies are cut by hand, many times using local farmers and vendors. As a matter of fact, the hamburger and sausage are not pre-cooked. Using fresh meat ensures a better flavor throughout the pie. As for the cheese, it’s 100% real mozzarella. You can build your pizza of course but what makes Johnny’s famous is the Sweep the Kitchen. 11 ingredients make up this tasty treasure.

  • Pepperoni
  • Ham
  • Olives
  • Mushrooms
  • Onions
  • Hamburger
  • Sausage
  • Bell Pepper
  • JalapeƱos
  • Anchovies

The Sweep the Kitchen is not the only specialty pie. Try the Veg-Out or the Mighty Meaty or the Maui Wowie to name a few. Check out the full list and find the latest deals and coupons on their website. Johnny’s Pizza House serves more than just pizza. If your looking for something a little different, try the Flip (their take on a calzone). We hear the Buffalo Chicken Flip and the Muffuletta Flip are amazing. Enjoy some wings or breadsticks to go with our order. Don’t forget about the peach pudding pie. It’s one of many popular desserts. Some locations offer an all-you-can-eat lunch buffet with a salad bar. Everything is made with fresh ingredients.

Overall, Johnny’s Pizza House is one of North Louisiana’s culinary treasures. Their employees and fresh ingredients have made them one of the most popular in the region.
