It’s a fun Shreveport tradition unlike any other. But the Annual Pumpkin Shine on Line will be different for 2020. It will be held on the Southfield School campus for Southfield School families only. Hopefully the event will return to normal in 2021.

This free event is held at Betty Virginia Park. Stroll through the park and marvel at the stupendous displays created by schools, families, pumpkin artists, and local businesses. Some pumpkins are painted. Others are carved. While you are walking the park and marveling at the incredible art, community leaders will judge the jack-o-lanterns to see who’s the best. Equally important, entertainment will be provided by area school bands, cheerleaders, and choirs. Also, food and concessions are available for purchase. Without a doubt, everyone will have a blast.
Due to thousands of attendees descending on Betty Virginia Park, you are encouraged to park at Mall St. Vincent and ride the free shuttle to Betty Virginia Park. Shuttle service runs from 4:00pm till 9:00pm. Once the sun goes down, the paths around the park will light up thanks to 2,500 luminaries. Find out more on the SB Fun Guide page and follow the fun on Facebook.
Maybe the pumpkins you see at Shine on Line will inspire you to carve and decorate your own pumpkin. Pick one up at a local patch.
