We’ve seen a lot of interesting and unique fundraisers here in the Ark-La-Tex. “Art in the Dark” for the Louisiana Association for the Blind (L.A.B.) appears to be one of the most fun. On Friday, February 28 at 6:00 pm, participants will enjoy cocktails by Thrifty Liquor and hors d’ouevres from Flying Heart Brewery at the Bossier Arts Council Annex. Mingle and experience new artwork created by people in the L.A.B. Art Program. These talented individuals don’t let their disability stop them from creating. Witness the results then make your way into the Annex to create your own piece of art. There’s a catch of course. You will be blindfolded!
“We have worked hard to keep the project under wraps so that guests are truly creating art blindly. The project is similar to one that clients in our art program create. The idea is to experience the world of art in a tactile way”, said Jessica Lowe Hall, Senior Director of Creative Development.
Proceeds from Art in the Dark benefit the L.A.B. Art Program. If you’re interested in partaking in this one-of-a-kind event, reserve a ticket at the Louisiana Association for the Blind’s website.
Following the February 28th event, everyone can see the artwork created by the artists at L.A.B. until April 27, 2020. See art in a whole new light!
