Grow your food knowledge at Greens on the Red Festival

The Annual Greens on the Red Festival happens in mid-March each year. Their will be a wide variety of edible greens at this festival. At this event they will celebrate greens commonly grown in the Ark-La-Tex, they grow arugula, cabbage, kale, radicchio, Swiss chard, herbs, turnip greens. If you love music, this event is for you, There will be live music, health screenings, family friendly activities for the family. One of which is the blender bike. Pedal and make your green smoothie!

The Greens on the Red Festival main goal is to make community gardens the focus of neighborhoods. This is made possible with the partnership with Louisiana AG Center.

Greens on the Red is a free and family friendly event at the Highland Community Garden at 520 Herndon Street in Shreveport. If it rains on Sunday, the event will move indoors to the Noel Methodist Church Gym. The festival is organized by the Red River Coalition of Community Gardeners and We Grow Together. The Coalition’s goal is to address the low income communities lack of physical access to grocery stores. The Red River Coalition has nine community gardens.
