Vendors are sorting their wares, musicians are tuning their instruments, singers are warming up their voices and all of Highland is gearing up for it’s sixteenth annual Jazz & Blues Festival. What started in 2003 with a handful of performers and a small crowd of music enthusiasts has grown over the years to a huge event and now draws thousands of attendees. The Highland Jazz & Blues Festival takes place Saturday, September 14th in Shreveport’s Historic Highland neighborhood at Columbia Park. It all kicks off at 11:00 am and runs until 6:00 pm.
This year you can experience 9 bands on 2 stages. Here’s the lineup!
Miller Lite Pavilion Stage
12:00 pm – Buddy Flett
1:15 pm – Margie Perez
2:30 pm – Shreveport Second Line Brass Band
3:15 pm – Ouro Boar
4:45 pm – Big Sam’s Funky Nation
BOM Gazebo Stage
11:15 am – The Brothers Band
12:45 pm – Jimmy Wooten
2:15 pm – Max Dab
3:45 pm – Logan and the Legendaries
In addition to the music, you can shop at more than 70 food and art vendors. There’s also a specified Kid’s Zone where multiple activities for your little ones are planned throughout the afternoon.
The Highland Jazz and Blues Fest is also pet friendly so you can bring your pups to the Dog Area where you’ll find water stations, treats, nail trims and more.
