Across the country, many states offer days where you can fish for free. No permits required for any public waterway. Just grab a fishing pole and try your luck. Many free fishing days fall around National Fishing and Boating Week. For 2020, that week is June 6-15. During these days, residents and non-residents can participate. With the recent Coronavirus outbreak, check before you go out on the water.

The Arkansas Game & Fish Commission has cancelled all of the fishing derbies this year due to COVID-19.

Since Louisiana is Sportsman’s Paradise, finding fish shouldn’t be a problem. The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries says that “While a fishing license is not required, all fishing regulations, including size, season, catch limits and gear restrictions will remain in effect during Free Fishing Weekend.”
