Feel the skirl of the bagpipes! Investigate your heritage at the clan tents. Enjoy live music from Celtic musicians Smithfield Fair, Emerald Accent, and Celtic Rockers Cleghorn. Be in awe of the quick feet of the Jackson Irish Dancers and sensual moves of the Port Belly Project. Learn about history through Scottish artisans and craftsmen and attend workshops replete with an Outlander Village. Witness the demonstration of highland cattle herding by border collies. Amuse the youngsters with the Maypole Dance, tug of war and face painting among other activities. Finally, hop on the hayride and take a tour of the farm. You’ll feel as if you are in the highlands of Scotland for the day! All at the Tartan Festival outside of Minden.
The Festival begins Saturday at 10 a.m. on April 6th and runs until 6 p.m. that evening. Admission is $7 for adults and $3 for kids age 6-12. Kids age 5 and under get in free. The Tartan festival is located at 224 LA-518 in Minden, LA at Scotland Farms of Louisiana
