Eight fun things to do this weekend: Oct. 11-13

There are so many fun things to do, it takes two KSLA First Alert Meteorologists to present them.

Lucky Dog Barrel Race


Barrel racing at its best! Horse riders of all ages from all over come to the rodeo for this show which lasts until Sunday. Check out the dog races on Saturday and Sunday. For more info and a schedule of events, click here.

Strokes for Strokes Art Show & Brandie Ferguson Art Show


The Bossier Arts Council along with the American Heart Association team up to present this exhibition of local artists artworks done by stroke survivors. Meet some of the artists at this free opening reception. The artwork will be on display until November 30, 2019. Also opening is Brandie Ferguson’s art show in the Emerging Art Gallery. Annual Quilt Show


See what local quilters have been up to as they display their latest creations. See the displays starting on Thursday, October 10. Follow the event on Facebook.

Fall Axe Throwing Contest


Sharpen your skills before signing up for this one-of-a-kind contest. Test your mettle to see who can throw the best axe. Space is limited so sign up soon. Teen tournament starts at 10:00am. Adult tournament starts at 4:00pm. For more info and to register, click here.

2019 GLOW Run


It’s one of the most popular races of the year in Atlanta! Run or walk at night along the lighted/glow-in-the-dark course. This family friendly event features awesome special effects. To sign up, click here.

Jeans & Bling


Dress up in your finest western wear and head out to support the Hospice of Texarkana. Some of the fun things to do include the Texas BBQ buffet, a lip sync battle, raffle, silent auction and live music. Tickets can be purchased here.

Shreve Memorial Library Friends Fall Book Sale


The annual book sale concludes on Sunday afternoon with great deals on over 50,000 items. Books, CDs, DVDs and Blu-rays can be purchased on Saturday and Sunday. For more info, click here.

Sharks in the Dark Sleepover
