One town does Christmas by candlelight

See what Christmas was like in the 19th Century at the Historic Washington State Park. During the first two Saturdays of December, experience Christmas by Candlelight as you tour locations around the park. The park will be open from 8:00 am-8:00 pm both days (December 5 & 12). Evening programming and tours begin at 5:00 pm. However, when the sun sets, prepare to be amazed by the lighting of thousands of luminaries. Park staff and volunteers will be happy to show you around the homes adorned in 19th century style decorations. In addition to the lights, hear Christmas music performed by area groups and choirs starting at 5:00 pm.

William’s Tavern Restaurant will serve a Christmas meal for lunch and dinner so you don’t have to miss out on that tasty tradition no matter what time you arrive for the event. Then, take a ride on a surrey for an experience you won’t soon forget. Due to Covid, no in-house tours will be available but you can enjoy the rest of the park for free. Face masks are required for entry into the restaurant and 1874 Courthouse visitor center. For more information, visit their website. While you are in town, make sure to check out the Print Museum.
