The biggest Christmas festival in Northwest Louisiana keeps getting bigger!
UPDATE: Due to new Covid restrictions, Rockets Over the Red has been cancelled for 2020.
Take two great cities and bring them together for the Christmas season with a spectacular fireworks show. Rockets Over the Red blasts off in 2020 on two nights (November 27-28) over the Red River between Bossier City and Shreveport. It’s going to be a little difference from previous years. You can do a little Christmas shopping or enjoy a family meal at the Louisiana Boardwalk Outlets in Bossier City. On the other hand (side), you can enjoy the Mudbug Market inside Riverview Hall with kid-friendly activities along with food trucks outside. Riverview Hall opens at 3:00pm both days. The Best of all, it’s free to come out!
Observe social distancing and wear a mask. You will see signs throughout the area with volunteers reminding you to keep the mask on. Hand sanitizing stations will be scattered through the hall and they plan to sanitize the restrooms every half hour.
During the festivities, see the two largest Christmas trees in North Louisiana at Shreveport’s Riverview Park and the Louisiana Boardwalk Outlets. Shreveport’s tree lights up at 6:45pm. At 7:00pm, everyone can gather around the banks of the Red River for one of the greatest fireworks shows in the area presented by Pyromania Fireworks.

It’s a great event to bring the family after an amazing Thanksgiving. This will truly get you into the holiday spirit.
