It's the biggest holiday fireworks display in the area! This weekend!
Take two great cities and bring them together for the Christmas season with a spectacular fireworks show. Rockets Over the Red blasts off on the Saturday after Thanksgiving over the Red River between Bossier City and Shreveport. You can do a little Christmas shopping or enjoy a family meal at the Louisiana Boardwalk Outlets in Bossier City. On the other hand (side), you can enjoy Christmas music by local choirs, bounce houses, and more at Riverview Park. Oh yeah, Santa will be there. Bring your camera for some great photos. Behind the Shreveport Aquarium, participate in the double-elimination cornhole bag toss tournament ($20 registration fee).
During the festivities, two of the largest Christmas trees in North Louisiana will be lit at Shreveport’s Riverview Park and the Louisiana Boardwalk Outlets. Around 6:45pm, everyone can gather around the banks of the Red River for one of the greatest fireworks shows in the area presented by Pyromania Fireworks.
We asked Chris Jay, Social Media and Public Relations Manager of the Shreveport-Bossier Convention & Tourist Bureau, about the best places to be. He says that if you want to see the big production with an emcee and music, you should be at Riverview Park. If you want to spread out, head to the carousel area at the Louisiana Boardwalk Outlets. Watch out for traffic. Clyde Fant Parkway in Shreveport will be closed starting at 3:30pm. For more information, you can see all of the fun at www.RocketsOverTheRed.com.
It’s a great event to bring the family after an amazing Thanksgiving. This will truly get you into the holiday spirit.
The Rockets Over the Red Fireworks Festival is presented by the Shreveport-Bossier Convention and Tourist Bureau, the City of Shreveport, the City of Bossier City, Louisiana Boardwalk Outlets, Pyromania Fireworks, KSLA, and KRMD.
