A Classy Shreveport Tea Room has Closed

One of the Highland neighborhood’s institutions has shuttered its doors for good. Glenwood Tea Room in Shreveport recently announced over Facebook that the doors which had been closed due to the Coronavirus will not reopen.

Since 1990, the Glenwood Tea Room presented afternoon tea and served a luncheon of specialty salads, crepes, sandwiches and more. The place was one of the only Victorian-style Tearooms in the country and North Louisiana at one point. In addition to the tea service and restaurant, people could shop in the boutiques.

No plans have been announced about what will happen to the 1923 Glenwood Drugstore building. Anyone who drives down Line Avenue can’t miss the iconic Greenwood Village sign.
